
Business Council Boards Meet Next Week in Evanston

The Wyoming Business Council (WBC) is making a number of updates to the Business Ready Community (BRC) grant and loan program rules and has opened a public comment period to collect feedback.

The Wyoming Business Council (WBC) Board of Directors will hold their quarterly meeting on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in Gillette at the Gillette College Pronghorn Center beginning at 8 a.m. The board also will convene a work session focused on local economic development the previous afternoon, May 2.

The Wyoming Business Council (WBC) presented two Business Ready Community (BRC) grant and loan requests to the State Loan and Investment Board (SLIB) at their meeting on April 6. A project submitted by the Town of Sundance was previously scheduled to go before the board at this time; however, they withdrew their application prior to the meeting.

The Wyoming Business Council (WBC) presented six Business Ready Community (BRC) grant and loan requests to the State Loan and Investment Board (SLIB) at their meeting on Feb. 2. The SLIB approved all of these projects as listed below, including a $20 million grant to the City of Laramie for Project Jupiter.

Today, the State of Wyoming made a historic decision to approve a $20 million grant to the City of Laramie to support the expansion of a locally-grown business, Plenty, and the creation of the world’s largest and most advanced vertical farming research facility in Laramie.
