CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The Wyoming Business Council (WBC) has named Jadeen Mathis as its new Southeast Regional Director. Jadeen will serve as WBC’s on-the-ground connection to communities, businesses, and local partners across Albany, Laramie, Goshen, and Carbon counties – listening to regional priorities and helping turn local ideas into economic progress.
“Jadeen brings exactly what this role calls for,” said Heather Tupper, WBC Director of Regional Operations. “She’s a Laramie native who knows southeastern Wyoming because she’s lived it, and her background in education gives her a real understanding of how opportunity gets built – through people, relationships, and community. What stands out most is her genuine excitement for Wyoming’s future. She doesn’t just want to serve this region; she wants to help build something lasting here, and that’s the kind of energy our communities deserve.”
A lifelong Wyoming resident, Jadeen was born and raised in Laramie. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Wyoming and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in higher education administration at UW, which she expects to complete in spring 2027.
Jadeen joins WBC from the University of Wyoming’s Office of the President, where she most recently served as public relations manager and previously managed the university’s Events Office. She brings nearly 20 years of combined experience in higher education, career and technical education, communications, and relationship-building, including her time at UW and WyoTech.
“Building relationships has always been at the heart of my work,” Jadeen said. “I was drawn to this position because it gives me the opportunity to connect people, communities, and resources while making a broader impact across southeastern Wyoming. I’m excited to listen to communities, understand their priorities, and help turn their ideas into meaningful progress.”
As she steps into the role, Jadeen said her priority is straightforward: listen and learn. “My goal is to build trusted relationships with community leaders, businesses, and local partners, and to help communities create a strong future for Wyoming.”
Jadeen is especially passionate about creating opportunities for Wyoming’s younger generation. “I want to help Wyoming’s young people discover opportunities, find their own paths, and build lives and careers here in our state.”
WBC’s regional directors are embedded in communities across Wyoming, serving as the agency’s local presence and primary point of connection between the state’s economic development resources and the businesses, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who use them.
