Cheyenne, Wyo. – The Wyoming Broadband Office (WBO) is pleased to announce that the state of Wyoming has met all federal requirements and is moving forward on implementing its $198 million statewide broadband program.

After successfully meeting all federal requirements, WBO signed the National Institute of Standards and Technology‘s (NIST) Notice of Award Amendment for the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program on January 9, 2026.

The Notice of Award officially launches the next phase of Wyoming’s BEAD Program. Wyoming was allocated approximately $348 million in BEAD funding to connect nearly 39,000 unserved and underserved locations in the state with reliable and affordable broadband. WBO awarded projects totaling approximately $198 million, saving more than $100 million in taxpayer dollars.

In total, WBO awarded 65 last-mile deployment projects to 13 subgrantees that will achieve the goal of universal broadband access in Wyoming.

“We are thrilled to partner with such an extensive group of internet service providers and thank all applicants that participated in Wyoming’s BEAD process,” said Chad Bolling, WBC’s Broadband Manager.

As WBO moves into this next phase of connecting residents across the state, the office will:

  • Publish the subgrantee contract agreements
  • Engage awardees in contract negotiations
  • Publish program materials
  • Schedule Technical assistance webinars
