The Wyoming Department of Agriculture's hemp plan was approved by the US Department of Agriculture in February.

Wes Brown, pesticide licensing and RST coordinator from the Wyoming Department of Agriculture will provide an overview of the rules and regulations for completing a hemp application along with some of the dos and don’ts when starting with hemp.

John Connett, Integrated pest management specialist and hemp agronomist for the University of Wyoming, will follow with a presentation on the basics of growing hemp. John will provide general information regarding hemp seeds, clones, CBD, grain production and harvesting.

The goal of the workshop is to provide some sound information to those attending that may help alleviate some of the stumbling blocks others have had when starting with a new crop to Wyoming.

The workshop will begin at 12:30 p.m. on April 1 at Platte Valley Bank, 200 16th Street, in Wheatland.

Preregistration is recommended due to seating capacity of the conference room of the facility. Space will be limited to 65 and with a registration deadline of March 30.

To register please contact the Platte County Extension office at 307-322- 3667 or email platteco@uwyo.edu.
