SBIR Matching Grant Program

The Wyoming SBIR Match Grant Program is designed to support companies that have received Phase I or Phase II federal funding through the Small Business Innovation (SBIR) or the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. With the intent of helping Wyoming businesses that are working to advance their groundbreaking technologies and looking to commercialize their research. The goal of this program is to catalyze innovation and business growth within the state, ultimately creating a lasting positive impact on the Wyoming economy.

Who is Eligible

Wyoming Businesses with the following are invited to apply: 

  • An active federal SBIR/STTR award
  • At least 50% of employees based in the state
  • Committed to seeking additional funding beyond SBIR/STTR

Grant Details

  • Applications are open year-round 
  • Phase I grants will have access to a maximum $100,000 match
  • Phase II grants will have access to a maximum $200,000 match
  • Maximum of 4 matches throughout the lifetime of the business

Process

  1. Review program rules, qualifications, and required documentation to confirm eligibility
  2. Complete the application and provide the required documents
  3. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis – those who qualify will be invited to pitch virtually with the WBC team
  4. Applicants will be notified within two weeks of the pitch 
  5. Approved applicants will begin the contract process which can take 45 days
  6. For 3 years post-award, the business will submit annual reporting, as well as maintain its meaningful nexus within the state of Wyoming
