Wind River Development Fund Awarded $36 Million EDA Recompete Grant

The Wyoming Business Council (WBC) is excited to share that the Wind River Development Fund (WRDF) is one of six organizations nationwide selected as an awardee under the Economic Development Administration’s Recompete Pilot Program. WRDF, the lead applicant, and its four co-applicants will receive $36 million over five years to fund innovative and Indigenous-based economic development strategies on the Wind River Indian Reservation. The four co-applicants include the Eastern Shoshone Tribe, Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative, Wind River Food Sovereignty Project, and Central Wyoming College.

Wyoming Business Council Board of Directors Holds Special Board Meeting July 31 via Zoom

The Wyoming Business Council (WBC) Board of Directors will hold a special meeting via Zoom on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This Special Meeting is called for the consideration of time-sensitive broadband topics, a graphic design and content creation support contract, a contract amendment with an existing loan servicer, and a business 50/50 loan. No other business will be discussed at this meeting.

Recognizing the need to support the innovation and growth needs of entrepreneurs across the state, the Wyoming Business Council is thrilled to announce that Casper-based Breakthrough Venture Capital (BVC) has secured its first close of funding for their inaugural fund with participation from Wyoming Venture Capital (WYVC).

Business Council Board Meets May 7 & 8 in Casper

The Wyoming Business Council (WBC) Board of Directors will hold their quarterly meeting plus a public work session next week in person in Casper, Wyoming, and concurrently via Zoom.

The WBC Board will meet on Wednesday, May 8, at the Hilton Garden Inn (1150 N Poplar St, Casper WY,82601), beginning at 8 a.m. The Board also will convene a public work session the previous afternoon, May 7 beginning at 12 p.m. at the same location.

The Wyoming Business Council is looking for teams of community leaders committed to working on economic development challenges to take part in a free workshop focused on cultivating a shared vision and collaborative momentum.

The Assessment to Action (A2A) Planning Workshop is a comprehensive, hands-on opportunity tailored for teams of three to eight individuals devoted to enhancing the economic well-being of their local communities, regions, industries, or state organizations. Teams will dive into a locally-led, problem-driven planning approach that empowers them to impact on root problems.
