Johnson is the Southeast Regional Director for the Wyoming Business Council, where he serves communities and businesses in Albany, Carbon, Platte, and Laramie Counties. He holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Regis University, and as a Accredited Valuation Analyst (AVA) member of the National Association of Certified Valuation analysts, he specializes in the area of business valuation, finance, and financial analysis. He is also a graduate of the University of Wyoming and of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute. In addition, Johnson holds two other certifications, the certified small business counselor through the Wyoming Small Business Development Center and the Certified Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP), through the National Development Council.
Previously, as Vice-President of the Laramie Economic Development Corporation, he helped established two business parks and a local revolving loan fund, which continues to finance company expansions today. Since joining the WBC in 2000, Johnson has established several “Business Challenge” programs across the state in which startup businesses can win cash grants and services. He has also been at the forefront of other nationally recognized and innovative programs, including the Wyoming Market Research Center. Never one to shy away from innovation, he has also worked in the areas of local currency, community owned clothing stores, new market tax credits, and entrepreneurship development.
