Hello, Community Leaders, Lenders, Realtors and Property Owners!
You are invited to attend this brownfields workshop on Tuesday, April 4, which is being co-hosted by the City of Cheyenne, the Wyoming DEQ and the Technical Assistance to Brownfields (TAB) Program at Kansas State University. The workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Attendance is FREE but registration is required.
Does your community have an abandoned building, old gas station, junk yard or other potentially contaminated property that is impeding future growth? Do you look at these sites and wonder where funding could come from to remake the site as a contributor to your community? Is there speculation that the site might have contamination and considered to be a brownfield, or are the buildings just obsolete?
Are you aware that Cheyenne has assembled a variety of resources to assist in the redevelopment of these parcels with strategies to manage liability arising from the contamination present? Come hear from those versed in the redevelopment of brownfields regarding funding sources and liability management strategies. Meet the contacts in the various agencies overseeing cleanup and find out about a new low interest loan program. Hear about local success stories.
Who should attend? Local and regional government officials, lenders, realtors, property owners, community development organizations and anyone interested in learning about brownfields or about financial resources for local redevelopment. All are invited but focus will be on information for communities in the Cheyenne area.
