WTT’s Destination Showcase Program invites federal, state and local agencies and organizations into our Welcome Centers to promote their local destination, attraction, event and/or to provide interpretive programs to the traveling public. WTT operates welcome centers in Cheyenne, Sheridan, Sundance and the Summit (between Cheyenne and Laramie). Cheyenne and the Northeast (Sundance) are open all year while the centers in Summit and Sheridan are operated seasonally. We encourage all local hospitality, recreational and tourism related organizations and agencies to take advantage of this opportunity to present your destination and/or interpretive programming to our visitors. Signage Grant Program
Wyoming Travel & Tourism (WTT) receives $400,000 each biennium to fund signage projects along Wyoming’s Highways. The purpose of the grant program is to nurture Wyoming’s tourism industry by creating a more visitor friendly and easily accessible destination. The program is a biannual program and provides funds for the following sign categories: Interpretive/Wayside Exhibits, Tourism/Service/Attraction, and Free Form Signs. Any non-profit entity, municipality, tribal government, state and federal agency are eligible to apply for funding.

The grant program is a bi-annual program. Applications for the 2013 funding cycle will be available in March, 2012.

• If you are considering nominating an interpretive sign and/or wayside exhibit within Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) right-of-way, you will need to contact the State Historic Preservation Office Monument and Markers Program at 777.6179 first and foremost before applying for WTT funds.
  
  
• You must provide a 50-50 cash match of the total cost of your project with the exception of the Tourism/Service/Attraction sign(s). WTT does not provide funds for contract administration, agency requirements, project management, and installation.
  
  
• Tourism/Service/Attraction sign(s) must meet the Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) criteria. To learn more about the criteria, you may contact your local WYDOT District Traffic Engineer.

• You must address how your proposed project (s) support WTT’s initiative to develop a visitor friendly destination, how you are working with your local tourism leadership (Lodging Tax Board and Chamber of Commerce) in the planning and implementation of the project (s), how the project (s) enhances the current tourism product offering (i.e. is the sign part of a loop tour), and does the project support the marketing efforts of the local tourism leadership?

Destination Marketing Specialist (DMS) Program
Wyoming Travel & Tourism has developed a professional certification program for individuals who work with the traveling public. The purpose of the program is to acknowledge frontline personnel as certified travel professionals, develop a trained and knowledgeable workforce for the travel and tourism industry, and create a more visitor friendly Wyoming. 

The certification program consists of three levels of recognition with each level increasing in difficulty. Candidates will be tested on their knowledge of the state of Wyoming and how well they can access information. Topics include, but are not limited to, geography, history, culture, traveler safety, flora and fauna, attractions, hunting and fishing, and the economic impact of travel and tourism. Customer Service and Information Centers
Customer Service Representatives answer traveler inquiries by phone, e-mail, and through information centers. Centers are located in Cheyenne, Laramie, Sundance and Sheridan. Materials that meet brochure guidelines for tourism businesses and local destinations are distributed through these centers at no charge.
