NEW! National Geographic and partners to launch Geotourism Program in the Greater Yellowstone Region: MapGuide to Highlight Natural and Cultural Heritage
The National Geographic Society is producing a Geotourism MapGuide of the Greater Yellowstone region, to celebrate and help sustain the area’s world-class natural and cultural heritage. National Geographic will create the map drawing on the expertise of visitors and residents of the region, which is centered on Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks, and includes surrounding communities and private and public lands in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.Regional project partners include Wyoming Travel & Tourism, Idaho Division of Tourism Development, and Travel Montana and its partners, the Yellowstone Country tourism region and the Bozeman, Big Sky, and West Yellowstone Convention and Visitor Bureaus. Project coordination is provided by Greater Yellowstone Coalition and Yellowstone Business Partnership. The project will be officially launched on April 15 and 16, at public events in Wyoming and Idaho. These events will mark the first opportunity for Greater Yellowstone’s residents to nominate places and activities for inclusion in the MapGuide.

Destination Marketing Specialist Program
Wyoming Travel & Tourism has developed a professional certification program for individuals who work with the traveling public. The purpose of the program is to acknowledge frontline personnel as certified travel professionals, develop a trained and knowledgeable workforce for the travel and tourism industry, and create a more visitor friendly Wyoming. The certification program consists of three levels of recognition with each level increasing in difficulty. Candidates will be tested on their knowledge of the state of Wyoming.  Topics include, but are not limited to, geography, history, culture, traveler safety, flora and fauna, attractions, hunting and fishing, and the economic impact of travel and tourism. For test dates and locations contact Candi Woske, Industry Services Specialist at 307.777.2887 or candi.woske@visitwyo.gov.
