Registration open for training to preserve, revitalize Wyoming downtowns
CHEYENNE –The Wyoming Main Street program is set to host a training session for people interested in improving the health of Wyoming’s downtowns and neighborhood business districts.
The Wyoming Main Street 101/201 training will take place Oct. 14-16 at the Laramie Holiday Inn. Participants may choose to attend the entire event for $185 or combinations of days for different amounts. Please visit www.wyomingmainstreet.org for registration options and pricing. Registration for the event ends Sept. 29.
Main Street 101/201 is a three-day, statewide training session open to anyone interested in learning about revitalizing the state’s downtowns.
The 101 session provides basic training for individuals new to Main Street organizations and those interested in learning about local Main Street programs. The session covers the design, promotion, organization, and economic restructuring points of the Main Street program, and introduces newcomers to the Main Street Four-Point Approach™. Participants also take part in a “Mock City” exercise to put their ideas into action.
The newly added Main Street 201 session is geared toward those who have completed the 101 training. The 201 session focuses on topics such as diversifying revenue sources, effective public relations, community-initiated development, and conquering leadership transitions.
To access registration materials or receive additional information about the training, please contact Evan Medley or Kelli Espinoza at 307.777.2934 or visit the “What’s New” section of the Wyoming Main Street program’s Web site at www.wyomingmainstreet.org.
