The Wyoming Business Council (WBC) funds the Wyoming SBIR/STTR Initiative (WSSI) to assist qualified Wyoming small businesses and individuals in accessing funds available through the federal SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) and STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer) programs. Eleven federal agencies provide more than $2 billion annually in research and development grants and contracts to qualified small businesses.
The Business Council uses the program as one method for small businesses in Wyoming to access federal funding to develop their innovative technology-based products.
Unique to Wyoming, the Business Council sponsors the Wyoming SBIR Phase 0 Program, which provides successful applicants a $5,000 award to develop competitive proposals for federal funding.
