Developers, community leaders and public officials are invited to attend a free workshop at 9 a.m. on Aug. 29 at Western Nebraska Community College to learn how the federal brownfields grant program can help local revitalization efforts.

A panel of experts will be on hand to discuss questions about site-specific issues and projects and help communities develop comprehensive strategies for redevelopment tailored to community needs.

Attendees will also learn about state and federal resources and hear how successful projects came together.

Wyoming communities have used brownfields grants for projects like Plaza Diane in Powell, a regional industrial site in Upton, Kemmerer’s city hall, a business park in Greybull and more.

The state recently received money to advance the environmental assessment, cleanup and redevelopment of brownfields sites in places like Cheyenne, Laramie and Sheridan.

Lunch will be provided. Interested participants should register at For more information, call Wyoming DEQ representative Cindi Martinez at 307-777-2948.
