The Wyoming Business Council has provided matching cash funds to secure federal funding for the Small Business Development Centers in Wyoming. In cooperation with the University of Wyoming, the Business Council believes that the SBDC provides quality services assisting businesses and entrepreneurs throughout the state.
Quick Overview of SBDC Services:
- Consulting: Personalized consulting service to help entrepreneurs develop their business plans, weed out problems, find capital, brainstorm strategies and propel their businesses to a profitable future. SBDC consulting services are confidential and offered free of charge.
- Training Programs: Workshops, courses and conferences designed to provide information on specialized topics of interest to business owners. SBDC workshops, conferences and courses are designed to be affordable and conveniently located. Recently, an online university, SmallBizU, was added to the SBDC website to provide more training resources for the small business community. SmallBizU is for those individuals seeking thought-leadership. Designed specifically for entrepreneurs and small businesses, this online university seeks to instill a formal business intelligence--the capacity to solve problems, meet challenges, and create valued products. Access SmallBiz at www.uwyo.edu/sbdc.
- Resources Library: Books, videos, tapes, audiotapes, magazines and more are available for free checkout to Wyoming's small business community.
- Referral Programs: The SBDC network is linked to hundreds of resources throughout the state and the nation to put businesses in touch with the most appropriate sources of help.
- Writing a Business Plan: A business plan is simply a written collection of goals for your business along with the research and strategies that will help you achieve them. A business plan is often necessary to obtain financial funding. The Wyoming Small Business Development Center offers experienced consultants, who can help you develop a business plan. To make writing a business plan even easier, the Small Business Development Center has licensed Activeplans Strategic Business Planning Netware to allow you to develop your business plan online.
