Recognizing the importance of leadership development, the Wyoming Business Council Agribusiness Division and the Wyoming Agricultural Leadership Council formed a partnership to train up and coming leaders in agriculture.

The Wyoming Leadership Education and Development program (Wyoming L.E.A.D.) is designed for individuals involved in production agriculture or agribusiness. The program strives to enhance participants’ broad-based knowledge, decision-making abilities and leadership skills for a sustainable agriculture in Wyoming.
Participation
Applicants are interviewed by a selection committee and up to 18 men and women are selected to participate in each L.E.A.D. class. Preference is given to applicants who are involved in production agriculture or an ag-related business. Participants must have been a Wyoming resident for at least one year.
Individual participants contribute to a portion of the program costs through tuition fees. The Wyoming Business Council provides financial support for the program and directs the curriculum. The Wyoming Agricultural Leadership Council is a non-profit organization which raises funds for the program and recruits and selects class participants.
Curriculum
Each class participates in about 40 days of seminars over a 14-month period. Eight seminars are held throughout the state of Wyoming. In addition to presentations by various resource people, these two to three-day seminars include group discussions, tours, workshops and assignments on specific issues. A seminar in Washington, D.C. and an international study seminar are also included in the curriculum.
