The mission of the Wyoming Business Council is to facilitate the growth of Wyoming’s economy.  To accomplish its goals, the Wyoming Business Council helps retain and expand existing Wyoming Businesses and industries; recruits targeted businesses to the state; and works with communities to develop infrastructure to become business-ready.  The Business Council’s divisions include Agribusiness; Business and Industry; Investment Ready Communities; Support Services; Travel and Tourism; and Field Operations.

Administrative Assistant

  • Reports to the Director, Rural Development/Main Street
  • Full time regular position responsible for providing administrative and clerical support for the Wyoming Rural Development Council/Wyoming Main Street staff and boards. Responsibilities include ordering and maintaining supplies, coordinating travel arrangements for staff and boards, maintaining mailing lists and budget tracking. Answers phones, greets clients, directs inquiries to appropriate staff and follow up with clients. Coordinates logistics for meetings, conferences and workshops and assists with meeting planning, scheduling, agenda distribution and meeting recording. Coordinates publication of promotional materials and brochures.
  • Requirements: High School Diploma, proficient grammar and spelling skills, knowledge of office procedures and functions. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of computer software applications including word processing, data base management, spreadsheet and publication programs.

Community Development Block Grant Program Manager

  • Reports to the Director, Investment Ready Communities
  • Full time regular position responsible for the administration of the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG).  Responsibilities include providing technical expertise and training to grantees on NEPA environmental reviews, Davis-Bacon wage rates and federal labor standards, reviewing and preparing grant funding recommendations, managing grant projects, drawing funds from the US Treasury for CDBG and any ARRA funding through HUD and preparing required federal reports.
  • Requirements:  Bachelors degree or equivalent, experience managing federal programs, complying with federal reporting and audits.  Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

State Energy Program Manager

  • Full time regular position responsible for the administration of the U.S. Department of Energy state programs to promote energy efficiency including development of State Energy Plan, submission of federal reports, management of grants and administration of Federal American Recovery & Reinvestment Act.
  • This position reports to the Director, Business and Industry
  • Requirements: Bachelors degree or equivalent, experience managing federal programs, complying with federal reporting and audits, background in the energy industry is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Supervisory experience with staff and contracts a plus.
