The mission of the Wyoming Business Council is to facilitate the growth of Wyoming’s economy.  To accomplish its goals, the Wyoming Business Council helps retain and expand existing Wyoming Businesses and industries; recruits targeted businesses to the state; and works with communities to develop infrastructure to become business-ready.  The Business Council’s divisions include Agribusiness; Business and Industry; Investment Ready Communities; Support Services; Travel and Tourism; and Field Operations.

Matt H. Mead, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Matthew Hansen Mead was born and raised in Jackson, Wyoming, completing his high school education in Jackson, and receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, in 1984.  Matt received his law degree, from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 1987.  After receiving his law degree, he served as Deputy County Attorney for Campbell County, Wyoming, and then as an Assistant United States Attorney in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  From 1995 to 2001, he was engaged in the private practice of law in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  He has also served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Wyoming and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney.

In October 2001, Matt was judicially appointed to serve as United States Attorney for the District of Wyoming, and on November 19, 2001, received his presidential appointment from President Bush.  As U.S. Attorney he served on the National Security Subcommittee of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee and the Native American Issues Subcommittee.  He served as Vice Chairman and Chairman of Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, a four state group comprised of law enforcement from Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Colorado.  Matt also served on the Governor’s Substance Abuse and Violent Crime Advisory Board, and the Governor’s Drug Endangered Task Force.  Matt left the U.S. Attorney’s Office in June, 2007.

Matt is married and he and his wife Carol live in Cheyenne with their two children.  Matt and Carol are owners of Mead Land and Livestock, LLC.  They divide their time between a ranch in Albany County and a farm in Goshen County.   Matt also serves as board member of Wyoming Bank and Trust, in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
